Who we are and how we work

Peptorium supplies peptide reagents for laboratory work. We commission synthesis from manufacturers who make peptides at laboratory scale, and we publish the chemistry that identifies a material: sequence, molecular formula, molar mass, CAS number, fill size and storage, all of it checkable against a public register. Alongside that we set out what a certificate of analysis contains and how to read one, so the right questions can be put to any supplier.

How we work

We commission synthesis

The material comes from manufacturers who synthesise peptides at laboratory scale. Each batch they make is theirs to document, under a batch number that identifies it.

A result travels with its report

A measured figure means something alongside the laboratory that produced it, the method, the date and the batch number it applies to. That is the standard any analytical claim is held to here, including our own.

We publish what can be checked

Sequences, molecular formulas, molar masses, CAS numbers, fill sizes and storage conditions - facts a reader can verify against a public register rather than against us. Alongside them, what a certificate of analysis contains and how to read one.

What a certificate of analysis states

Purity, by HPLC The main peak as a share of total peak area. The largest impurities are given as separate figures, and the certificate shows the trace they were read from.
Identity, by mass spectrometry The measured mass set against the theoretical mass for the sequence. Both numbers appear on the certificate.
Peptide content The share of the vial contents that is peptide. Stated separately from purity, because the two answer different questions.
Water, by Karl Fischer Water content of the lyophilised material, as a percentage by mass.

A solvent is measured differently. Bacteriostatic water carries a sterility result and an endotoxin figure and no chromatogram, because it is not a material that is run on a column. Where there is no HPLC data, this site draws no trace anywhere: not on the material page, not on the catalogue card, not on a shared link. A chart is a stronger claim than a number, because a reader takes it for a measurement. And a certificate worth reading names the laboratory that carried out the work, so that the result can be traced to someone other than the seller.

How we write about the material

We write about the material, not its use

We publish chemistry and analytical documentation. Use in people falls outside what this site writes about, in correspondence as well as on the page, and the material is sold for research.

A batch is judged by its certificate

What a batch is worth is settled by its certificate of analysis, not by an account of what happened to someone. That is why there is no review section here: such an account says nothing about the batch in front of you, and a collection of them would be evidence the material is being used for something other than research.

One price

There is one price: no countdown timers, no “two left in stock”, no crossed-out price that was never charged. When a reduction happens, the previous price and the lowest price of the preceding thirty days will be printed beside it.

To be completed before launch

The full details of the selling entity belong here: name, legal form, registered address, VAT number, company register number, and the address the goods are dispatched from. EU law requires the seller’s identity and a geographic address, and that information has to match the facts, including the country of dispatch.
